Date: April 26, 2008
Time: Ride starts at 9:00 am. Keiki Cycling activities to follow.
Location: Meet at Old Airport Park.
Route: Starts at Central Pavilion at the center of the Old Airport Park. Route goes along Kuakini Hwy. southbound to the start of Ali'i Drive. It then continues past the Kailua Pier along the water front toward the Kona Inn. It turns left into Hualalai Road where the group will turn into the Kailua Library parking lot and then backtrack along the same route to return back to the Old Airport Park.
Activities: Includes a Bicycling Safety Awareness mini-clinic, as well as simple bike maintenance for participants prior to the ride. Following the ride there will be a mini-Keiki bike rodeo and easy obstacle course to navigate.
Purpose: To entice individuals and families to start riding a bicycle as an alternative means of transportation. It's fun, it keeps one fit, and it's the cheapest and most efficient, oil-free means of transportation on the planet.
