A Seed Exchange is a time for local farmers to build food security for our isolated islands by coming together to share seed, cuttings, huli, roots, and keiki of food crops which do well in their farms and gardens and are acclimated to Hawaii`s unique climate. This year honors “Fire” and its role in agriculture. No money is exchanged and all plant material is given freely to those who want to grow it. Although everyone does not bring something to share, there is abundance for all and our hope is that over time everyone will begin to grow some food for their families and eventually bring something to share back to the community. Opening ceremony begins at 8:30 am. For more information, please visit www.hawaiiseed.org.
